Fun-ergy Factory

The kid energy is catching on

We brought Nickelodeon’s signature kid energy to life at Comic-Con through an immersive experience powered by play. At a cultural moment defined by productivity and burnout, the Fun-ergy Factory invited kids of all ages to reconnect with the loud, ridiculous, unstoppable energy that has always powered Nickelodeon, proving that play isn’t something we outgrow; it’s a power source that propels the moment. The Fun-ergy Factory physicalized that brand truth as a supercharged machine powered by fans themselves. Every laugh, challenge, lever pull, and burst of chaos raised the Fun-ergy meter, pushing the factory toward maximum slime capacity and the ultimate Nickelodeon payoff: the Slime Surge.
The power of play re-ignited

For Nickelodeon at San Diego Comic-Con, we built the Fun-ergy Factory, a show-floor machine that ran on kid energy and paid out in slime. Guests bent slime with Avatar, flipped switches in a SpongeBob bubbler, and dropped into a TMNT sewer, with every laugh and button mash driving the factory's meter toward a full slime surge. Nothing passive about it: play was the power source, and the payoff was loud, messy, and earned. But the fun didn’t stop there - guests entered the splat to an AI-powered video booth where they could be "slimed," or covered in cabbages, pizza, or Krabby Patties for the ultimate digital keepsake… without the mess.
